Early October Morning

 Last night I was cleaning out bookmarks on my computer and bumped into my blog!  Goodness a lot of time has drifted by since I have blogged.  I realized how much I missed taking pictures and chatting about my mundane life. 
This morning I had to take Buster to the Vets, it seems he has picked up a virus or once again ate something he shouldn't have (I am voting for that one). After spending the first hour of waking cleaning a kennel and all our bed linens (Dennis let him into the bedroom without knowing he had been so ill)!  Off to the Vets we went, 90.00 later and two shots along with 2 prescriptions he will be good as new (Buster not Dennis)

These shots were taken at the end of my drive way looking at my neighbors fields.  I think they made the whole Vet trip worth it. 

The sun is just beginning to burn off the dense fog.

Strawberries

I planted strawberries last year, I had a great patch going then I broke my shoulder. The strawberries became overrun with weeds. Dennis then tilled part of them this spring. ( A fact he will not admit too) So this year the berries are few and far between. I was wondering why I would wee some coming on but never had red ones.
It looks as if Buster likes strawberries also!!! He is going down to the garden and eating my berries.

I was pulling up Forget-me-nots, (they really become weeds quickly). As I finished the long bed I looked back and Buster had literally hog tied himself up in the pulled weeds. His ears were together on top of his head and his legs were tied together. his muzzle was shut. He was laying in the yard waiting for me to save him. I didn't even take a picture! It did take me 45 minutes to get everything out of his coat. Note to self from now on put weeds in bucket as you pull them.

Black and White with a Twist

There may be a groan on this one but whats a challenge with a twist???? First think back or look back at past challenges here and pick 2 subjects, then shoot them in Black and white or in color and convert them, pretty simple except no repeat pics from old challenges… This first one is the Challenge "Pets" this in Buster running in the snow. Buster is already B&W and his sweater is also

This I think is my favorite(don't tell Buster!) I shot it with my night setting this week after all the heavy rains we had. I very rarely use this setting, but thought it would be fun to try for this challenge.

I received my parcel for the Maker's Swap I entered last month and I can't tell you how much I love everything. Peta-Jane you did the most amazing job and did so much better that people I have know all my life in gift giving. Thank you with all me heart. Peta-Jane is from Australia and does some of the most amazing handwork, I have her Blog link above. First was this Shopping Tote, in what I would certainly call Mari Color's! It is exactly what I would have picked. It is roomy and has long straps and I am sure will be my going to work bag.

Next was this great Jewelry Travel case with zippered compartments and just perfect to store all my jewelry for a trip.


But I know which Buster liked the most. It is the cutest hand knitted Sweater which fits him perfect. Doesn't he look dapper? I put it on him and he started prancing around the yard he is very proud of it. Peta-Jane thank you again I loved everything you sent and it has been a joy to get to know you too.

Friday Finds and A Walk in the Woods

This afternoon we went walking in the woods. The tree colors are not as pretty as usual due to the drought, but it was still pretty nice. Buster had a ball running through the leaves and smelling all the critters back there. The sun made the trees look like they were on fire. I picked up hickory nuts, if they are good I'll go back and get enough to make a pie.
This was taken while I was laying in the hammock. I thought the sky was such a beautiful shade of blue and the clouds were so wispy. Tomorrow morning is pancake breakfast an t the fire station. It is an annual tradition opening morning of deer season. I hope I can roll myself out of bed early.
