Things with Wings

This was taken this week in Destin Florida. This guy was waiting for someone to make a mistake with their catch. Guess it is an easier way to get his supper.
This eagle spent part of last year fishing the lakes by our home. What a magnificent creature they are.
I had lots of time last year while mending my broken shoulder to sit outside and watch the hummers. The became very use to my company and would perch on the flowers next to me.
I grew up calling these bugs Steady Bees.

I'll tell you what I'd like to see is the hummingbird next to the eagle :D See the size difference and all.

I'd have to say that the line of creatures all preying on the fish is my fave!

Great stuff!

I remember those bees as 'Sweat Bees' as they tended to congregate near sweaty creatures. lol!

The hummer photo is quite amazing! Well done on that. And I like the first bird photo very much. I've not been to Destin for years. Good times.....
Glad you're back, too.

Aww! I spotted a hummingbird yesterday and I even had my camera in hand, but that little bugger buzzed off to quickly! Great shots! :) P.S. I know exactly what type of bee that "steady bee" is. Good description!

I have yet to see a hummer in this region and I love them. Great shot of the heron waiting patiently for something to eat but I especially like the eagle. They are such regal birds. BTW, thanks for your visit.

Lovely shots all... the heron sitting there took my breath away..I see them all the time but he seemed more social, standing there so close to the humans!
Thanks for stoppin' by my place today too!

I've always loved Pelicans, I guess because I live on the coast. I would love to see a Bald Eagle on a regular basis. That's just down right cool!
