The beautiful spiky eye of the cone flower caught my attention. What a great color combination these flowers are. At one time I had white cone flowers also, but over the years they have all turned into these pink beauties.
And finally one of my passions, glass. I love the way glass reacts to light the smoothness of it's texture. These beads are handmade melting glass rods over a torch onto a mandrel. It is an art called "Lampworking". I am fortunate to have my best friend Jill Symons be a well known artist in this ancient craft. I have a large collection of beads and find myself many winter nights sorting beads. I love making unique one of a kind pieces of jewelry with them.

GREAT choice! I LOVE LOVE LOVE the cone flower, as you can probably tell Macros are my favorite, I love how it makes the textures pop out and blur the background. I think it makes for an eye catching photo just like the one you posted! Way to go!
Nice variety.

Very nice touch with the earrings..:-)
such different choices! Love the description of how the beads came to be.
Ah, lamb's ear . . . a great photo and a great choice for this challenge.
There are so many textures in plants, and your photos are really nice. Liked the story on the beads too.
Yep. You did good. My fave is the lamb's ear. The texture is palpable. Makes me want to rub it. :)

Lovely shots, lamb's ear is my fave. 'Furry' is not something I usually associate with greenery - yet another thing I've learnt today!
Excellent photos! I make jewelry as well.
That lamb's ear is so cute, am imagining it so fluffy.
What lens did you take those earing picture with? Those are amazing.
I have both plants and enjoy the texture on both (in real life and in your shots :D ) But I love the lighting and color of the glass in your final selection.
GiGi the earrings are taken in natural light with my Sony H9 with the macro setting. Thanks for the comment.
I wish so much lamb's ear would grow here. Lovely photos. Carmon
They are amazing! I like the variety in your post. :)Great work!
Yesterday I had to hustle and clean the house for my son's birthday (we celebrated it Sunday anyway). So, today I can respond again. I like your selections and the beaded earings (last post I saw was of a bracelet hand made). I would love to do something like this..what a beautiful piece!
Great choice on the cone flower. Like those lamb ears too.
